    学校概况：
　　伊利诺大学始建于1867年，是全美国十所最大的州立大学之一。伊利诺大学共有三个校区：芝加哥校区、厄巴那一香槟校区和春田校区。芝加哥校区（也称芝加哥伊利诺大学）创立于1982年，当时是由伊利诺大学医学中心与位于芝加哥的校区合并而成，目前拥有25,000名学生、12,000名教职员工、15个学院及伊利诺州主要的公共医疗中心，财政年度预算12亿美元，是芝加哥地区最大的一所结合教学、科研和开发为一体的综合性高等教育院校。
　　芝加哥伊利诺大学下设的15个学院分别是：农业、消费与环境科学学院、应用健康科学学院、航空学院、商学院、传媒学院、教育学院、工程学院、美术与应用艺术学院、劳动与工业关系学院、法学院、文理学院、图书馆与信息科学学院、医学院、社会工作学院、兽医学院。能提供250多个学科的4000多门课程，可授予92个学士学位，88个硕士学位和51个博士学位。在校生中大约三分之一为研究生。
　　芝加哥伊利诺大学拥有110幢教学及办公楼，校区面积244英亩。是卡耐基高等教育基金会特别授予的美国88所一类科研院校之一。
　　芝加哥伊利诺大学的商学院被美国《成功》杂志2001列为“最佳的50所企业家商学院”中的第3位，在2005年《美国新闻及世界报道》的全美商学院排名中列第62位，其中的城市政策及管理专业排名第5位，金融专业排名第24位，MBA学位经过了全美高等商学院联合会（AACSB）认证。多年来，芝加哥伊利诺大学与中国各地政府部门，专门开办了针对中国学生的MBA课程，因此该校在中国地方政府有较高的知名度。伊利诺大学芝加哥校区的商业管理、工程、社会科学、健康科学、心理学、建筑学颇负盛名，深受学生们喜爱，拥有多种专业的研究中心及机构，多有杰出表现，并获得美国科学发展协会（AmericanAssociationfortheAdvancementofScience）、美国人文基金会（NationalEndowmentfortheHumanities）等多种国家级评鉴优良声誉或奖项。
